COVID-19: Your Questions Answered

Are offices open?

All SCRAM offices are open and operating on normal business hours. Because of the Shelter in Place orders, some public buildings may have different hours for reception or a different protocol for how you arrive to your appointment. That information is listed below and will be updated as needed.

Because of protocols put in to place to minimize the number of people in our busier offices at any one time, some of our offices may have extended office hours. Your local office will advise you of any specifics for your location when you call to make your appointment. As always, client support is available 24/7. Where applicable, installations are also being conducted at jails per the usual schedules and protocols.

Am I being monitored now?

Yes, there is no impact on your monitoring schedule or the requirements of your monitoring as outlined at Enrollment.

Does it matter if I keep the bracelet on?

Yes, it matters. After this is over, the courts, probation departments, and agencies will be addressing any noncompliance. It is imperative that you continue to follow the requirements of your monitoring. We are here to help you through this.

Am I going to risk exposure to COVID 19 in one of your offices?

We have instituted key interventions, as outlined by the CDC, in order to minimize any risk of exposure. These include:

  • Use of hand sanitizers
  • Surface disinfection after every client appointment
  • No handshakes
  • Use of face masks
  • Social distancing
  • Limiting the number of people in each office—no family or friends
  • Meeting with 1 client per office at a time
  • Closing our waiting room areas
  • Extending office hours on an as-needed basis

Are the bracelets disinfected?

Yes, all equipment goes through a rigorous cleaning that uses medical grade disinfectant.

Where should I wait for my appointment if your waiting area is closed?

The staff at each office will advise you where you can wait for your appointment. Scheduling is being done to eliminate overlap between clients as much as possible.

Can I use hand sanitizer?

If you are being monitored for alcohol with the SCRAM CAM bracelet, we advise you to wash your hands with soap and water as recommended by the CDC. If you must use hand sanitizer with alcohol, please only apply it to your hands and make sure you allow it to completely dry before touching the bracelet or around the leg with the bracelet.

What if I am sick, should I still come to my appointment?

If you are sick, we recommend you follow your doctor’s instructions. Any documentation reflecting your doctor’s orders would be helpful. Please call us first so that we can assess the situation and the reason for your appointment.

What do I do if I am out of work because of this and can’t pay?

Call us immediately. Our SCRAM team members are here to help you. You are still responsible for your monitoring fees, so we will work with you in any way possible. You will be required to provide documentation regarding your work. In addition, our team may be able to provide resources such as access to companies that are doing hiring right now and helping you apply for unemployment.

If we are on lock down, will you still be open?

We will still be open and servicing our clients. Your requirement to report is permitted even under lock down. Please see instructions for entering specific locations in the first question on this page.

If you have additional questions, please contact your local SCRAM office.
